The Book Bit: Special Edition

Welcome to another special edition! I'm always so happy to work with authors and participate in blog tours, especially when it comes to this particular lady. I absolutely love Hannah Lynn's work! To see my review of her book (which she also published this year. I mean, what!?) The Afterlife of Walter Augustus, you can find that here. It was also wonderful and I recommend everyone read it. But let's focus on her newest book today!

"Peas, Carrots and an Aston Martin"- Hannah Lynn

Lynn prides herself on not fitting into a specific category. Instead she simply loves to write people's stories. This book is no exception. Is it a thriller? Romance? Drama? No. It stands on it's own as being the story of Eric Sibley, a workaholic who's just lost his estranged father. Eric had no idea his inheritance would come with conditions, let alone that his biggest inheritance would not even be given to him. His father left him a gardening plot and the coveted Aston Martin.

Though Eric is disappointed not to get the house or some of his mother's cherished belongings, he becomes increasingly annoyed at the stipulations his father left behind in his will. Eric would have to work to keep his Aston Martin. Just as he had to work for his father's affections and approval.

Lynn paints a trying time in Eric's life where he's forced to make life changes he never anticipated. Follow along as Eric tries to keep his world together and juggle it all in the attempts not to lose his job, his family, or the only thing his father left him. This book will restore your faith in the human condition, family, and friendship. Everyone will find something relatable in this book. Even if it's just the struggle to grow a damn garden.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, as I do with all of Lynn's work and encourage you to seek out her novels. She is a truly talented author and her books always leave me on a high note. I can't wait to see what she does next.

The Book Bit: April 2016 ed.

April. Wow, wow, April. It came and went so quickly and my schedule looked like a mad man came in and scribbled all over it. We were busy . So busy in fact that I only got to read two books this past month! Two! Oh, the travesty! But, in all fairness, did you see the size of the Kostova book?! It's huge! It should count for two reads due to the sheer size of it. April's choices were rather odd, but humorously in the same genre: romance! Oh, how I love me a good romance. "Snow Melts in Spring" was actually written by a relative (well... sort of a relative. By marriage. Or something.) and given to me by my great Aunt. The Book BIt: May 2019 Ed.

Hey all! I hope summer is in full swing for everyone. We had a particularly long school year due to all the snow days we accrued. Luckily the weather is finally turning and we're getting more and more warm days. Unfortunately, we're also getting colossal amounts of rain. Like, too much. The Book Bit: January 2022 Ed.

Happy New Year to every one of my readers. We've had a wild start to the new year and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down. But as unpredictable as January has been, the constants have been my TBR, always watching, always waiting, and ready for reading. Did you read anything amazing in January?
